Firstly, I wrote about how [AI coding assi I also downloaded all my Kindle ebooks after [Terence Eden raised the alarm about Amazon disabling this functionality](https://mastodon.social/@Edent/114002591748639959) a couple of days ago. I was initially surprised that Amazon would further enshittify their ebook system when there are so many competitors out there but then again, Amazon making anti-consumer choices shouldn't surprise anyone really. I am probably going to start getting my ebooks from Kobo from now on. I would like to buy ebooks from Bookshop.org but they don't currently seem to offer this functionality in the UK and they have pretty rubbish DRM restrictions too. I could go back to analogue books but a) I'm clumsy and likely to damage them b) I travel on the train a lot and books take up a lot of room and c) we don't have huge amounts of space in our house for a huge library. -I'm still enjoying [High Potential](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26748649/) which I've been watching on my commute and I'm still playing Dead Cells on my Switch when I get a few minutes of down time too. +I'm still enjoying [High Potential](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26748649/) which I've been watching on my commute. I started reading [Dr No by Percival Everett](https://bookwyrm.social/book/637198/s/dr-no) as it had quite a compelling and interesting concept but I DNFed it because I found the writing style too self indulgent and verbose. Instead I started reading [The Lincoln Lawyer](https://bookwyrm.social/book/202343/s/the-lincoln-lawyer) which I am enjoying thus far. I'm still playing Dead Cells on my Switch when I get a few minutes of down time too. This coming week I'll be trying to get over this cough/cold thing and if I feel well enough we should be going to see Chris McCausland in Southampton. I also have a few house jobs I want to start looking into including finding a flooring fitter who can put down some laminate for us in our living room and replacing the annoying dimmer switch in my office with an on/off light switch.
