 Today I learned about [PicGo](https://github.com/Molunerfinn/PicGo) an open source project which provides a relatively lightweight tool (it is an electron app so... 😬) which runs in the background and can upload images from your clipboard or filesystem to a host of your choice. The main README for the project is written in chinese which unfortunately I can't read. However, I was able to fumble my way through with some use of Google Translate and some guesswork.

 I recently noticed that every time I have some downtime - be it a long weekend or a two week holiday - I end up getting sick with coughs and colds. I also feel tired a lot. Not only is this inconvenient, it can severely impact my enjoyment of my time off or even prevent me from going to things I was looking forward to. I decided that I need to get better at relaxing and unwinding so that my body doesn't force me to do it in the least enjoyable way (from my bed sniffling and coughing).

 I've been thinking about some of my habits and behaviours and how I can try to change them to get some more rest and hopefully improve my health a little bit.

 <p>On Monday we went to CostCo and spent lots of money bulk-buying things. Although I'm always horrified by the bill at the checkout, I love to come home and calculate how much I've saved versus buying the same product from my local supermarket in small quantities. This time it was about £60 which is pretty good!</p>

 <p>The big problem, especially for software engineers and deep knowledge workers, is that these "quick questions" and just being borrowed comes with context switching cost. The person who asked it may not realise that their 2 minute question just cost you half an hour of work time because you need to get back into the zone (or a nerdier analogy - you need to page the contents of your brain out to disk and loading it back into memory is slow work...)</p>

 <p>I really enjoyed reading <a href="https://brainbaking.com/post/2023/10/top-25-best-music-albums-of-all-time/">Wouter's</a> post about his top 25 albums of all time and realised that for someone who mentions music pretty prominently in my bio, I barely talk about it on my blog.</p>
 <p> I might do a top 25 albums post at some point but for now, I am content to share a couple of music updates that excited me this week.</p>
 <p> Firstly, on Wednesday Mike Portnoy announced that he's going to be returning to <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/quentinsinger/2023/10/25/drummer-mike-portnoy-has-rejoined-dream-theater/">Dream Theater</a> which is awesome. Mike Mangini who's been drumming for the band since MP left has been doing an admiral job (he was pretty well qualified, previously <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7TzWrKso4I">holding the world record for the highest number of drum beats in a minute - 1203</a>). MP is one of the main creative voices in the band so hopefully, with his return, we might see a return to concept albums like Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence and Metropolis.</p>
