This morning I noticed that there were some weird things happening in Firefox and pages were crashing all over the place including my wordpress editor, my umami console and various other pages. I had some weirdness with Gnome and Ubuntu on my laptop this morning so I thought it was operating system instability.

Then, I came across <ahref="https://lemmy.ml/post/13247149">someone on Lemmy who was experiencing similar problems and blamed the Proton Pass plugin. The error messages I was getting in the console didn't mention proton but they were similar in nature. I disabled the addon and hey presto, I got some stability back on my system.

If you are having this problem and you're a proton pass user, you will be pleased to know that <ahref="https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonPass/comments/1bfe2zi/protonpass_firefox_addon_breaks_websites/">Proton are working on getting it fixed but in the mean time you can go to<ahref="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/proton-pass/versions/"> the official addon page and download v1.14.1 to forcibly revert your plugin and restore stability until the new version is out.
